Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-10199) Warn on tiny disks instead of failing startup
Date Wed, 26 Aug 2015 19:01:47 GMT

Ariel Weisberg commented on CASSANDRA-10199:

[Can you get configuration exception to wrap the IOException?|]
[Same wrapping issue here, maybe time to create a helper function?|]
[Ponies would be to log the directory and total space in megabytes as well.|]
[For this particular informational kind of warning I would prefer a unit larger than bytes,
but this is bike shedding.|]
Possibly a float with 2-3 digits of precision after the decimal if I need to be more precise.

> m3.medium instances only have 4 GB disk space. We allocate 8 GB to commitlog by default.
> We should (1) cap CL to 1/4 of disk space and (2) warn when a tiny disk is seen.
