Increasing performance is bottom of my list while there is still work to do to prevent regressions
(graphs) and then there are the correctness issues (filling in CVH modules, tests not passing).

I agree that compaction should work like greased lightning. It's core to making LSMs palatable
and it's something I would work on if I thought that making progress on stability (performance,
correctness) wasn't a bigger problem.
