Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-9640) Nodetool repair of very wide, large rows causes GC pressure and destabilization
Date Mon, 29 Jun 2015 19:18:04 GMT

Jonathan Ellis commented on CASSANDRA-9640:

I do see lots of this in the log:

bq. WARN [SharedPool-Worker-3] 2015-06-22 16:30:57,310 - Batch of
prepared statements for [publish_core.entity_asset, publish_core.relationbackref, publish_core.entity_product,
publish_core.relation] is of size 5716, exceeding specified threshold of 5120 by 596.

If you're using batches for bulk loading, don't.

If you're not using batches for bulk loading, you may want to rethink your data model.

of our report computation tables that involves possible very wide rows with 10GB of data in
it. THis is an RF 3 table in a four-node cluster.
