Stefania commented on CASSANDRA-9306:
-------------------------------------

[~mambocab], test_all_datatypes_write() and test_all_datatypes_read() in cqlsh_copy_tests.py
are failing for 2.1 on my box, but they are OK for 2.2. Are they intended to be run on 2.1
at all?

Here is the diff for the write test, it seems the date and time timestamp is missing:

{code}
debug("csv : " + str(processed_csv))
debug("result : " + str(processed_results))

dtest: DEBUG: csv : [['ascii', '1099511627776', '0x307862656566', 'True', '3.140000000000000124344978758017532527446746826171875',
'2.444', '1.1', '127.0.0.1', '25', '\xe3\x83\xbd(\xc2\xb4\xe3\x83\xbc\xef\xbd\x80)\xe3\x83\x8e',

'asdf', '36893488147419103232']]
dtest: DEBUG: result : [['ascii', '1099511627776', '0x307862656566', 'True', '3.140000000000000124344978758017532527446746826171875',
'2.444', '1.1', '127.0.0.1', '25', '\xe3\x83\xbd(\xc2\xb4\xe3\x83\xbc\xef\xbd\x80)\xe3\x83\x8e',
'', '9ed44bea-0029-11e5-aa7f-0050b67e8b2f', '4cace0be-5aef-4ae1-a67b-8c64cf1335f0', 'asdf',
'36893488147419103232']]
{code}

There is also a typo at the top of cqlsh_copy_tests.py: CASSANDRA-3906 should be CASSANDRA-9306.

> We need much more thorough test coverage for cqlsh's COPY TO/FROM commands. There is
one existing basic dtest ({{cqlsh_tests.py:TestCqlsh.test_copy_to}}) that we can use as a
starting point for new tests.
> The following things need to be tested:
> * Non-default delimiters
> * Null fields and non-default null markers
> * Skipping a header line
> * Explicit column ordering
> * Column names that need to be quoted
> * Every supported C* data type
> * Data that fails validation server-side
> * Wrong number of columns
> * Node going down during COPY operation
> In the non-failure cases, the tests should generally inserted data into Cassandra, run
COPY TO to dump the data to CSV, truncate, run COPY FROM to reimport the data, and then verify
that the reloaded data matches the originally inserted data.
