--------------------------------------------------------------

I cannot reproduce this with python 2.6.9 on ubuntu trusty and the 2.1 branch:

{code}
stefania@mia:~/git/cstar/cassandra$ git status
On branch cassandra-2.1
Your branch is up-to-date with 'origin2/cassandra-2.1'.

nothing to commit, working directory clean
stefania@mia:~/git/cstar/cassandra$ python --version
Python 2.6.9
stefania@mia:~/git/cstar/cassandra$ cqlsh --ssl
Connected to Test Cluster at 127.0.0.1:9042.
[cqlsh 5.0.1 | Cassandra 2.1.5-SNAPSHOT | CQL spec 3.2.0 | Native protocol v3]
Use HELP for help.
cqlsh> use test;
cqlsh:test> select * from test;

 id | val

{code}

Maybe there is some security related setting I am missing however.

I searched the error "Unable to connect to any servers" and it comes from the *python driver
cluster.py* file, not cqlsh. I think it's this *python bug* here: http://bugs.python.org/issue9729.
They definitely fixed it in 2.7 but maybe they fixed it in 2.6.9 too, I'm unable to tell.

I also tried downgrading to 2.6.6 but with no luck, I can compile the python source code but
I cannot get it to support ssl.
