Tyler Hobbs edited comment on CASSANDRA-8502 at 4/28/15 10:58 PM:
------------------------------------------------------------------

When running some of the new paging dtests, I discovered that there's a problem with querying
secondary indexes when we have multiple slices. CompositesSearcher just uses the start of
the first slice and the end of the last slice for internal querying, and we don't filter any
of the matches based on the original slices. I'll have to make some more adjustments to the
patch.

EDIT: we actually do filter, but filtering wasn't working due to a bug in the patch (after
merging, maybe). I'll provide more details when I upload the new patch. We should probably
also make CompositesSearcher better at handling multiple slices in the first place so that
we don't filter a ton of rows.

> When paging is used for a query containing a static column, the first page contains the
right value for the static column, but subsequent pages have null null for the static column
instead of the expected value.
> Repro steps:
> - Create a table with a static column
> - Create a partition with 500 cells
> - Using cqlsh, query that partition
> Actual result:
> - You will see that first, the static column appears as expected, but if you press a
key after "---MORE---", the static columns will appear as null.
> See the attached file for a repro of the output.
> I am using a single node cluster.
