Aleksey Yeschenko edited comment on CASSANDRA-8759 at 2/13/15 11:07 PM:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually Sylvain brought it up, but the question still stands.

Additionally, if this (and CASSANDRA-8730) go in 3.0, after all (which *seems* to be the consensus),
then you don't need to bother with #fromStringCQL2 (because there is no CQL2 there).

Additionally, both this and CASSANDRA-8730 should be based on trunk, and in 3.0 you don't
need to bother with #fromStringCQL2 (because there is no CQL2 there).

> Split out from CASSANDRA-8730. I, and somebody historically, have evidently edited one
without editing the other. Since their behaviour is highly overlapping I think it would be
beneficial for TimeUUIDType to extend UUIDType, and for their shared behaviour to share implementation.
This will also standardise their behaviour for parsing CQL2 literals.
> I've not marked a fix version, since I don't mind too much what version this makes it
into.
