Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-8230) LongToken no longer needs to use a boxed Long
Date Wed, 05 Nov 2014 13:25:34 GMT

Branimir Lambov commented on CASSANDRA-8230:

I'd be very happy to make {{Token}} an interface, but I don't know if that's something that
can be done for a 2.x target.

How about renaming {{AbstractToken}} to {{ComparableObjectToken}} then (to differentiate it
from objects that are not comparable ({{BytesToken}}) and comparables that are not objects
({{LongToken}}))? Any other ideas on how it could be called?

> After CASSANDRA-8171 a token reference field is no longer a requirement for tokens. This
permits LongTokens to include a primitive long field, which should noticeably improve the
space and time efficiency of the Murmur3Partitioner tokens.
