Subject [jira] [Updated] (CASSANDRA-7897) NodeTool command to display OffHeap memory usage
Date Thu, 27 Nov 2014 17:29:13 GMT

Benjamin Lerer updated CASSANDRA-7897:
    Attachment: CASSANDRA-7897-V2-2.1.txt

The patches exposes through JMX and through NodeTool the Off heap size of the bloom filters,
the compression metadata, the index summaries (2.0+) and the memtables (2.1+).

The total offheap size has been added to the nodetool {{info}} part and the offsize per data
structure (bloom filter, index summaries...) to the {{cfstats}} part.

> Most of the highest memory consuming data structure in Cassandra is now off-heap. It
will be nice to display the memory used by BF's, Index Summaries, FS Buffers, Caches and Memtables
(when enabled)
> This ticket is to track and display off heap memory allocation/used by running Cassandra
process, this will help users to further tune the memory used by these data structures per
