Sit tight on the review on this for a few Tyler - I'm incorporating some of the above changes.
 Spoke briefly w/Benedict offline; our Time type is byte-order-comparable out of the gate
since we're bounding it between 0-N, with N being nanos per day, and I should be able to get
SimpleDate into the same boat without too much added complexity.
