I'm inclined to agree w/Lyuben - we have a precedent with our .yaml parsing to bomb the entire
thing out with invalid input, and in cases where we have quirky platform-specific differences
(URL being a recent case - see CASSANDRA-7335) I think the least surprising thing to do would
be to bail out with a message to the user as to why rather than introducing a specific code-path
to try and get Windows to behave.
