Joshua McKenzie commented on CASSANDRA-6890:
--------------------------------------------

Tested out upping new gen to 2G on a 4G heap. No noticeable impact on performance though
new gen GC count and survivor flip-flopping declined as expected. I'll start throwing some
timers into the BufferedPooling* file path vs. Mmapped* unless anyone has any better ideas.

> Since we actively unmap unreferenced SSTR's and also copy data out of those readers on
the read path, the current memory mapped i/o is a lot of complexity for very little payoff.
Clean out the mmapp'ed i/o on the read path.
