Subject [jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-6401) "Clustering order by" property does not support when the column name is written in "uppercase"
Date Sat, 23 Nov 2013 13:38:35 GMT
DIKSHA KUSHWAH created CASSANDRA-6401:
-----------------------------------------

             Summary: "Clustering order by" property does not support when the column name
is written in "uppercase"
                 Key: CASSANDRA-6401
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-6401
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Core
         Environment: Windows 7  64 bit
            Reporter: DIKSHA KUSHWAH

Database Version : CASSANDRA 2.0.1
1. Connect cassandra 2.0.1 and execute following query:-

   CREATE TABLE "test"."cat"  (
	"cache"	text,
	"num"	int,
	PRIMARY KEY("cache","num")
) WITH
	CLUSTERING ORDER BY (num DESC);

2. Now execute following query:-

CREATE TABLE "DOG"  (
	"CACHE"	text,
	"NUM"	int,
	PRIMARY KEY("CACHE","NUM")
) WITH
	CLUSTERING ORDER BY (NUM DESC);

3. When we create table "cat",it is successfully created but when we create table "DOG" it
gives error "Missing CLUSTERING ORDER for column NUM" because Table "DOG" column name "NUM"
is in upper case and Table "CAT" column name "num" is in lower case.

4. Cassandra supports when we create a Table with column names in upper case without "CLUSTERING
ORDER BY " property then it should also support this property with upper case column names.
