Re Hadoop 1.x vs. Hadoop 2.x - most companies I see are using a 1.x version of Hadoop. Usage
of Hadoop 2.x is ramping up fast, but I'm guessing it will be at least another year (probably
more) before you'd want to start thinking about phasing out support for Hadoop 1.x
