Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-4544) fix acknowledge_by for batch_mutate
Date Thu, 30 Aug 2012 22:44:07 GMT

Jonathan Ellis commented on CASSANDRA-4544:

But if the batchlog write is successful, it should return TOE, not UE.

UE means "I stopped because I knew the replicas were down before I wrote anything."

TOE means "write is in progress, but isn't complete yet."

Once BL write starts, write is in progress so can't return UE anymore.

> CASSANDRA-4414 added TimedOutException.acknowledged_by, but for a batch write will send
back the acknowledged_by for a random row, which usually does not reflect the status for the
batch as a whole. Should override this to -1 in that case.
