Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-3647) Support set and map value types in CQL
Date Thu, 14 Jun 2012 15:36:43 GMT

Rick Shaw commented on CASSANDRA-3647:
--------------------------------------

Why isn't the discard syntax as simple as:

{code}
SET L = L - [2, 3]
SET S = S - {4, 5}
SET M = M - {'asdf'}
{code}

I assume BTW that braces ("[") are signifying a _position_ in an ordered list, and Brackets
("{") are signifying a _value_ (or label) and not a position.

> Composite columns introduce the ability to have arbitrarily nested data in a Cassandra
row. We should expose this through CQL.
