Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-3647) Support arbitrarily nested "documents" in CQL
Date Tue, 10 Apr 2012 00:03:19 GMT

Jeremiah Jordan commented on CASSANDRA-3647:
--------------------------------------------

I meant setting the timestamp portion of the UUID to the negative of the current time. The
timestamp portion of the UUID is how you are getting append/push back, correct?

field3.pushback(a) -> field3:1 : a
field3.pushback(b) -> field3:2 : b
field3.pushfront(c) -> field3:-3 : c
field3.pushfront(d) -> field3:-4 : d
field3.pushback(e) -> field3:5 : e
Gives you:
(-4, d), (-3, c), (1, a), (2, b), (5, e)

> Composite columns introduce the ability to have arbitrarily nested data in a Cassandra
row. We should expose this through CQL.
