1e6defcaba90b7313d87c2626cbb6ae418b40567 still doesn't apply cleanly to 1.0 for me.

Incidentally, why is switching "out=sys.stdout" to "out=None" and then special casing none
in the method body an improvement?  Are you expecting stdout to change?
