Can we init the preserializedBuffer in RMVH w/ the byte[] we already have instead of rebuilding it?

Can we drop the byte[] from the apply/commitlog path in favor of calling getSerializedBuffer?

(Still confused as to what extra serialization we're saving here but definitely good code cleanup.)
