Subject [jira] Commented: (CASSANDRA-1799) Allow session level 'assume' functionality for client
Date Wed, 01 Dec 2010 16:27:11 GMT

Jonathan Ellis commented on CASSANDRA-1799:

I think a default comparator would not be very useful in most cases.

But I would like to see the cli save/load assumptions made between sessions.

I need to do:
> assume Standard2 COMPARATOR as utf8
> assume Standard2 VALIDATOR as utf8
> Most types support toString rather, since this is a client I think it makes sense to
default display values as utf8 and fallback to bytes on error.
> Alternately we could support the syntax 'assume default COMPARATOR as utf8' on the session.
