Claus Ibsen commented on CAMEL-8502:
------------------------------------

The parent pom is our BOM today.

For creating a BOM automatic then there is tools like sundrio that can do that. And some others
I have heard.
https://github.com/sundrio/sundrio

There is already plenty of changes going in for 2.18 in the build system, that we should refrain
from too many more changes.

> We should consider introducing a real Maven BOM (bill of material) that Camel end users
can import and use when working on camel maven projects. Then the BOM imports the version
dependencies and whatnot that Camel uses.
> Today camel-parent can be sorta used for that, but it was for internal camel usage.
> Having a BOM is the proper way.
