Alexander Kriegisch edited comment on CAMEL-7536 at 3/12/16 11:01 PM:
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I also want to be able to set the transfer encoding for the main body of a single-part message,
e.g. if I have a data format marshalling a message to a base64-encoded S/MIME body, at least
via

{code}.setHeader("Content-Transfer-Encoding", simple("base64")){code}

which currently gets overwritten by {{7bit}}. If you read at [this StackOverflow issue|http://stackoverflow.com/a/35960354/1082681],
you will see what I mean.

*Update:* I am a Camel newbie, just wanted to help the guy on SO. If you know a way to directly
provide a {{MimeMessage}} to the mail endpoint, please let me know.

> It should be possible to set the content-transfer-encoding for attachments, normally
it will be automatically determined based on the content of the attachment.
