Subject [jira] [Commented] (CAMEL-5798) camel-saxon does not work on pure Karaf 2.3.0
Date Fri, 23 Nov 2012 07:56:58 GMT

Claus Ibsen commented on CAMEL-5798:

Camel 2.10 and below is targeted for Karaf 2.2.x.
Camel 2.11 is targeted for Karaf 2.3.0.

So you cannot expect 2.10 to work flawless in Karaf 2.3.0 which is using a major new release
of Felix, OSGi 4.3, and Aries 1.0. Where as Karaf 2.2.x is using Felix 3.x, OSGi 4.2, and
Aries 0.3.

Also I think gnodet found some issues with those SMX bundles for XML resolvers and what else
is there, they didn't work to well with OSGi. He said something about improving their factory
loader in OSGi.

And frankly Karaf is a general purpose container. So some modifcations is maybe needed for
you. For example in Karaf 2.2.x there was a file you had to override to have
it work with CXF / Camel etc. You may need something similar for Karaf 2.3.x etc.

> It seems like the camel-saxon feature only has been tested on Servicemix and not on a
pure Karaf installation. Servicemix comes with a pre-installed XmlResolver while Karaf doesn't
and it seems like camel-saxon requires an XmlResolver. It should therefore be added to the
camel-saxon feature.
