Subject [jira] Commented: (CAMEL-3480) New component: Kestrel
Date Mon, 10 Jan 2011 14:03:45 GMT

Dan Checkoway commented on CAMEL-3480:

Claus, do you have an updated patch for me to test? I didn't see it committed on trunk or
attached here.

It's no problem to embed a Kestrel server in a test. Easy to embed it as a jar in any app.
The only catch is that Kestrel isn't *published* in jar form. I suppose the test could download
the distro, build it on the fly, and then grab the jar from there.

The other thing that complicates things is that Kestrel is written in scala, so whoever needs
to build it needs the scala environment, sbt (scala build tool), etc. It would be much more
straightforward if Kestrel were published as a jar. Do you think SMX folks would be willing
to make it available as an OSGI bundle?

I'm not sure what the best approach would be for the embedded setup. I assume you've had
to cross this bridge in the past for other components?

be added as an official Camel component. Currently the code lives here:
