Subject [jira] [Commented] (BROOKLYN-262) No error thrown when adding app yaml to the catalog

Thomas Bouron commented on BROOKLYN-262:
----------------------------------------

There are 2 issues here:
# The catalog should refuse a YAML that is not formatted correctly, i.e. does not start with
`brooklyn.catalog`
# The composer should detect in which mode we are based on what is typed. I would go even
further than that and remove the mode toggle from the UI as it is only there to change the
submit button label + example that can be inserted.

> Adding application yaml to the catalog composer results in the app being added to the
catalog rather than an error thrown.
> For example, adding the following to the composer with {{catalog}} selected rather than
{{application}}:
> {code}
> location: localhost
> name: tomcat
> services:
> - type: org.apache.brooklyn.entity.webapp.tomcat.TomcatServer
>   id: tomcat
>   name: Tomcat
>   war: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/appdev/sample/sample.war
> {code}
