I think we've only discussed removing support for Java 6.  I think there 
are users on Java 7 so we probably should support that but not sure.  If 
anyone feels strongly on 8 we could check.  We might also be able to set 
code compatibility to 8 with binary compatibility to 7 to use some of 
the features.
