    Transformer clean-up and catalogItemId

    Transformer code uses simpler XSLT, cleaner java, and supports causing a `catalogItemId`
change

    add some low-level xslt compound transformer rules
    
    this will allow refactoring and simplifying the existing mechanisms, and supporting new
things like replacing catalogItemId
