Subject [GitHub] incubator-brooklyn pull request: Show raw config values via REST A...
Date Thu, 09 Oct 2014 05:38:32 GMT
Github user ahgittin commented on the pull request:
@sjcorbett this isn't about *ease* of use, it's about the *possibility* of use. if we
make up credentials and then have no way to expose them, the tenant is completely unusable.
i agree it would be nice to have sensitive information secured but i'd say that should
be done holistically -- applying to cloud credentials and anything picked up by `Entities.isSecret()`
not just the `BrooklynNode.MANAGEMENT_PASSWORD`. and ideally a scheme such as:
    * there is a server session option which has to be enabled for the server to return them
uncensored (and that could take `OFF`, `RAW_ONLY`, `ALWAYS`, if we want an easy optoin for
disabling its appearance in the GUI but permit it when `?raw=true`)
    * there is a new `EntitlementClass` to which controls whether that server session option
can be enabled

If your project is set up for it, you can reply to this email and have your
reply appear on GitHub as well. If your project does not have this feature
enabled and wishes so, or if the feature is enabled but not working, please
contact infrastructure at or file a JIRA ticket
with INFRA.
