I tried your LmsTest.jws, but WSDL correctly returns "xsd:base64Binary". Could you please check your WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd ? If it contains the following handler you must be using old codes in SVN. DropInDeploymentHandler no longer exists. Thanks in advance. Wolfgang
