Subject [jira] [Commented] (BEAM-1946) Add IO module for restful api
Date Thu, 18 May 2017 19:35:11 GMT

Daniel Halperin commented on BEAM-1946:

I've been talking to some folks at ApacheCon with related projects. Here are a few generic,
useful ideas.

1. Integrating with Apache Streams (met [~steveblackmon] at ApacheCon) might be useful here,
because they are already providing connectors/connections to many APIs. Maybe we should make
it easy to read from a particular type of Apache Streams stream and that's just a wonderful
transform that is a source of data from any REST API. That way we won't have to duplicate

2. The other generalizable, and useful thing, could be to pick a real standard such as OpenAPI
and implement a generic connector. [~bigbluehat] pointed me at OpenAPI and may be able to
name others.
