I cannot reproduce this on a Mac.

Here is what I did:
- Fresh clone/fresh virtualenv
- python setup.py install
- pip install nose
- pip install pyhamcrest
- nosetests --logging-level=INFO apache_beam/io/fileio_test.py

Output I got:

$ nosetests --logging-level=INFO apache_beam/io/fileio_test.py
