Subject [jira] [Created] (BATCHEE-22) make our GUI (or better the JobOperator) be able to control multiple cluster nodes
Date Sun, 30 Mar 2014 08:57:14 GMT
Mark Struberg created BATCHEE-22:
------------------------------------

Summary: make our GUI (or better the JobOperator) be able to control multiple
cluster nodes
                 Key: BATCHEE-22
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BATCHEE-22
             Project: BatchEE
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Mark Struberg

Currently our GUI can run on a cluster, but it can only control batches on the very own cluster
node.

This has nothing to do that JBatch doesn't mention clustering and it is up to the vendor to
implement this (or not).

Even from a client position you would just land on a random cluster node. If you are happy
then sticky session is configured and you will not randomly hop around cluster nodes. But
this is e.g not possible from a Job control environment like e.g. UC4 or JES.

So we need to think hard how our control bits shall behave in clustered environments. This
is separated from how the Jobs themselves can utilize a cluster best.
