Subject RE: Client side request/response chain
Date Tue, 08 Apr 2003 20:14:09 GMT
request/ response chain on the client side is just like the servlet filter but its on the client
side. It acts on the outgoing message as it leaves the client side and on the response (incoming
message) when the response reaches back to the client.
For instance as a client, you may want to encrypt your message before you send it across and
decrypt the incoming response message when you receive it.
OR
you may want to add a soap action header to the outgoing messages.

Subject: Client side request/response chain

Hi, all:

Being new to Axis, I am not clear about the Client side request/response
chain.
Does it mean for any Axis client, there can be such a chain?

To be specific, the Axis samples/security example. It has this client side
global request chain. Could someone
explain to me what this is?

I thought the request/response chain is just similar to Servlet Filter.
But, I am puzzled by client side chain.

Thanks

Qiang Bai
