Subject Sanity check for doc/lit service
Date Thu, 06 Mar 2003 16:16:36 GMT
I read the 1.1 spec, but didn't see an answer.

If you build a doc/lit web service (AXIS or other), let's say with a
document with root of <Jim>, should it be:

<Envelope>
<Body>
<Jim>
...

Or

<Envelope>
<Body>
<Insert_transaction_name_here>
<Jim>
...

I noticed that the RPC style uses the latter, and the service name is placed
in the <insert....> location.

So, should I

*	Construct doc/lit SOAP msgs like RPC, with a service name below
Body, and my doc below the service name
*	Put my Doc XML right below Body?
*	Do either, as there is no standard?

Enquiring Minds want to know, and can't seem to find the answer on Google or
in the standard.

Jim
