Subject RE: SSL/HTTPS overhead?
Date Fri, 01 Mar 2002 19:22:23 GMT
Hi Chris,

In my simple test ( repeated invocation of echo("Hello World") ), avg.
response time was around 70 ms with https and around 30 ms with http. I am
running W2K on a 350Mz Pentium with JDK1.3.1 + JSSE 1.0.2.

/Pankaj.

Subject: SSL/HTTPS overhead?

Does anyone have any rough estimates on how much overhead (percentage-wise)
HTTPS/SSL adds to a SOAP call? All things being equal, how big of a
performance
hit is using HTTPS? We need to encrypt out data over HTTPs while using SOAP.
Thanks
