Deepal, any chance of holding off on further changes to the http transport until Thursday?
 I'll commit this then (after testing the alpha2 jar of course).

Ajith, I'd love to commit now, but it would break the build unless everybody added the jakarta-httpcore
jar to their maven repository manually.  I think it is best to wait for Oleg to post a jar
to ibiblio.
