Yes, I think same (about releaseSAXParser). Although I doubt you'd gain much by changing it.

Also, in your code [for review] shouldn't the paired calls to get/release be balanced using
'finally' blocks, as in:

DocumentBuilder db = null;
try {
  db = getDocumentBuilder();
  ...
} finally {
  if (db != null) {
    releaseDocumentBuilder(db);
}
