Subject Axis proxy
Date Fri, 15 Oct 2004 20:37:08 GMT

Sirs,

I am currently attempting to set up proxied web services utilizing Axis 1.1,
JDK1.4.2_04 on Mandrake Linux.

I have been able to accomplish this by using the WSDD package to manipulate my
objects and make it appear as if the service actually exists locally on the
Axis server. My problem is that I have had to comment one line of code in the
org.apache.axis.description.ServiceDesc file. That is line 771

loadServiceDescByIntrospection(implClass);

As you know, this code uses reflection to do a sanity check on a loaded
service to insure proper configuration. Since I am attempting to utilize a
proxied service it doesn't actually exist in the server configuration so I
receive exceptions.

Is there a way to get around this check so that I won't have to change the
source code? If not what is the proper procedure for including the modified
code along with our code and giving due credit to the original developers?

Respectfully,

John Griffin
