Here is an overview of the issue:
        Key: AXIS-1359
    Summary: Duplicate HTTP headers
       Type: Bug

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: Axis
             Basic Architecture
             1.2 Beta

   Reporter: Sanjesh Pathak

Axis is sending duplicate HTTP headers under some circumstances. I am using Axis server as
a proxy service. This was working fine before. After digging through the lates CVS I believe
I found the code that is causing this behavior.

This code was added to on Mar 11 2004 for revision

      // Transfer MIME headers of SOAPMessage to HTTP headers.
      MimeHeaders mimeHeaders = reqMessage.getMimeHeaders();
      if (mimeHeaders != null) {
          for (Iterator i = mimeHeaders.getAllHeaders(); i.hasNext(); ) {
              MimeHeader mimeHeader = (MimeHeader);
              .append(": ")

Before adding the header, this code doesn't check to see if the header is already appended
to the HTTP header (see previous code block where headers are appended) resulting in adding
duplicate HTTP headers.
