xs:date not serialized/deserialized correctly

Glen,

After getting the latest code today, this still fails. See my comment on 2003-
10-03. A date coming in without a time gives a deserialization error, even 
though the xsd defines the attribute as a date, not a datetime. The wrong 
deserializer is getting chosen.

The xsd has:
<xsd:attribute name="change_date" type="xsd:date" use="required"/>

The data coming in is change_date="2002-08-28"

An exception is thrown when attempting to deserialize, saying bad date format.

My description in this bug report on 2003-10-03 explains why.
