xmlns="" in response message breaks .net interop

------- Additional Comments From bkeane@6thStreet.net  2003-05-01 20:01 -------
Tom,

Sorry for the confusion. The problem I am describing is NOT exactly the
problem described in 17746. As part of the discussion, Adam Craven (2003-04-
12 18:32) noted some other areas (see his point 3) that appeared to have
namespace problems.

In particular, I am referring to his patch to
org\apache\axis\providers\java\RPCProvider.java. This change did not appear
in his later reposting of the patch(2003-04-15 23:08), and therefore wasn't
committed.

When I aply that patch, my soap response changes to:

 <soapenv:Body>
  <HelloResponse xmlns="http://service-impl">
   <HelloReturn>Hello, Brian</HelloReturn>
  </HelloResponse>
 </soapenv:Body>

The absence of xmlns="" on the <HelloReturn> element makes my .net client see
the returned value.

dims,

I'm using .net 1.0 framework. Will also test with 1.1

Regards,
Brian
