I did a search on MSDN to see what they did, and yup, only one SP. and a big 'no
support ever' banner page. That's the problem with closed source -they can
discontinue support when they feel like it. 

Multiple space support in Axis is probably the thing to do; let's leave this bug
open for that and the potential to refactor this code into one place. 

Nb, I like httpclient for other reasons; whoever maintains the java core doesnt
read the RFCs closely enough either.
