literalXML attribute is not used

Summary: literalXML attribute is not used
           Product: Axis
           Version: 1.0
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Serialization/Deserialization
        AssignedTo: axis-dev@xml.apache.org
        ReportedBy: m.hearn@signal.qinetiq.com

When returning a DOM Element from a method in a web service, the resulting SOAP
XML uses an Axis specific namespace, instead of the literalXML encoding. Is this
a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
