I'm doing two things about this.  The first is to commit your patch.  I'm going to mark the
bugzilla bug fixed, but in general I'd say the scope of the bug was a bit too broad - if you
want to open other issues for each of the unaddressed bullet items that'd be fine too.

The second thing I'm going to do is in the next mail.
