(!) I would like to raise this issue to an official vote, and get +1/-1s from the committer base ASAP. My current plan is to spend next week cleaning things up, making small-scale improvements, and doc-writing. According to the release plan, we need at least 3 committers to +1 this and agree to be the "release team". The more of us that can put in some time next week, the nicer we can make the release.
