Hi Doug,

Doesn't the use of org.apache.xml.serialize.XMLSerializer force Xerces to
be present? Even if a user exploits your usage of JAXP to use a different
parser library (for parsing), they will now be forced to have Xerces
present also. Is XMLSerializer a standardized thing that I'm unfamiliar
with?
