I tried commenting the "http" transports in axis2.xml (I think that's what you meant by duplicates), as well as adding the certificate information from the server (not the key file or passphrase, since I don't need client authentication, and I don't have them). Oh, and yes, I already had compiled Axis with --enable-openssl=3Dyes. I still got the same error, after all this. :-/ Also, I tried the echo client sample provided with the Axis2/C distribution (after disabling all the https transports in axis2.xml and enabling the http ones), and I got the same error in that one, so I'm starting to think it might not be a problem with SSL...
