Subject Arbitrary logical types in Avro IDL
Date Wed, 14 Dec 2016 10:48:51 GMT

Support for a subset of logical types has been added to the IDL language
(date, time and timestamp, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-1684)
and decimal seems to have also been added more recently.

Is there any way to specify an arbitrary logical type that is not
specifically supported by the IDL language, that would be mapped to the
logicalType attribute in the generated protocol files?
