Mike Rodriguez commented on AVRO-1455:

Is there any Jiras logged to address
[https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-1455?focusedCommentId=13899535&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-13899535]
which concerns dealing with enum types in deepCopy so that we can convert from generics to
specifics and vice versa [~cutting]?

I'd be up for making one if it hasn't been put on the map yet. I think the functionality
to convert from generics to specifics would be valuable in certain workflows.a

> Java Boolean, Integer, Long, Float and Double are immutable so there's no need to create
new instances for them in GenericData#deepCopy. Note that this optimization is already present
for String.
