Lewis John McGibbney commented on AVRO-1127:
--------------------------------------------

hi [~ekohlwey] [~cutting], I came across a TODO in GoraCompiler and was directed here

"This is dirty. We need to file a bug in avro to get them to open the API so other compilers
can use their utility methods"

http://s.apache.org/aet

>From what I see this issue was abandoned... it does not really affect Gora in any major
fashion, but I just though I would follow it up anyway. Does anyone have comments on the proposed
patch... which IMHO is not a bug fix but more like an improvement.

> generateMethodName should be visible and allow a suffix.
> The particular use case for this is that Gora will be generating it's own implementation
of Avro classes that support marking fields with a dirty bit to reduce the overhead when writing
back to a data store, so we need a utility to generate appropriate method names for checking
the dirty state, ie. isFieldNameDirty()
